From the moment I began reading The Story of Control I was drawn into the book. Many of us have heard about the professional Dominatrix, those powerful women who men so willingly give over control to. Yet they are shrouded by mystique. Who are these women and what do we know of them beyond the steely control they exert over the men who crave to see them?

Adrianna Taylor breaks through that shroud of mystery and reveals herself as both the Dominatrix and the girl next door. Reading her story of how she delicately balances her work life and personal life is a fantastic read. The more I read the harder it was to put the book down.

While Adrianna is completely in control of her work life, her personal life seems to escape her at times. Trying to maintain a relationship with her boyfriend while seeing clients turns out to be more difficult then it seems.

Adrianna’s alter ego Mistress Hallie Brookes has a solid client base of men looking to see her; at times it is also tense as there are moments that teeter on men who appear to be border line stalkers eager for her full attention. There were times when she was meeting new clients in strange places, and I found myself fearing for her safety.

The one down side to the book was when I came to the end and found myself wanting more. After I finished reading The Story of Control I felt like I was now a part of her life as I experienced the high times with her of meeting someone and the lows as a close relationship came to an end.

I found the book to be intriguing and well written as Adrianna exposed the intimate details of her life.
