Full Circle

I pulled into the homestead about noon today. It was bitter sweet to say the least.

The trip was wonderful, exciting, gruelling, tough on some levels, and yet simply amazing.
There were long stretches of empty road thought the Apalachicola National Forest, a controlled burn that had the area covered in smoke, logging trucks, rain, wind (lots of wind) and very unexpected cold weather. Then there was the beautiful sights of the beaches along the Emerald Coast, the small towns with the southern hospitality (everyone is honey or sweetie).  One lady at a crossroads gas station told me “Sweetie, you’d best boot scoot and boogie to where you’re a going the weather’s bout to turn.”
Always a friendly smile and a good conversation to be found.

The thing is I did it! I have to say in all honesty I needed this. It was truly a discovery of self.
Something that I thought had gone missing but was really always there.Bad Penny you hit the nail on the head, I had forgotten.

This trip was an eye-opener for me on many levels and I learned something, many things about myself in a number of different ways.
With some help there was a lot of insight as to who I am, what I am capable of, where I came from and what I can be.

Someone had asked to see my bike all loaded up with the luggage and travel ready, so this is from the last morning on the road.
Dust covered, rain spots, and a few bugs on the wind-shield here it is:

On the way back there was a song that kept resonating with me as I rode:
Yes, I’m ready for something more!

I disappear
into the night
The silence is cursing me
one more time
I’m not alone
in this decline
‘Cause all my demons
have come back to life

I cannot wait for a savior
My angel is long gone
I’m on my knees
I don’t wanna break
I don’t wanna break
Give me something (something)

Give me something more
Give me something more don’t shut my eyes
Give me something more
Give me something worth the sacrifice

I cross the line
The walk of shame
I hear the church
bells through the acid rain
How can I trade
the fraud for right
and pick up the pieces
Come back inside

I can’t deny
don’t ask me why
I feel the pressure
everywhere
It starts inside
erupts in pain
It knocks me down
Am I insane?

Give me something more
Give me something more don’t shut my eyes
Give me something more
Give me something worth the sacrifice

I can’t deny
don’t ask me why
I feel the pressure
everywhere
I cannot stand
this life in vain
Give me a sign
Am I insane?

Give me something more
Give me something more don’t shut my eyes
Give me something more
Give me something worth the sacrifice

Give me something more
Give me something more don’t shut my eyes
Give me something more
Give me something worth the sacrifice

I cannot wait for a savior
My angel is long gone
I’m on my knees
I don’t wanna break
I don’t wanna break
Give me something
I don’t wanna…

Give me something more
Give me something more to shut my eyes
Give me something more
Give me something worth the sacrifice

Give me something more
Give me something more to shut my eyes
Give me something more
Give me something worth the sacrifice
