Shibari Saturday – The Beauty of Rope Work

tieme

Shortly after little flower and I began delving more into the BDSM side of play I made a purchase. I bought her a set of wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs. They are a sturdy set and lined so she can wear them for a while and not be uncomfortable with them. A few times I have even had her sleep with them on.

The cuffs are great, I can pull them out of the toy box and in a few minutes with minimal muss and fuss they are strapped to her wrists and ankles and with the aid of a few clips and a four or five way harness she is locked in whatever position I want.
Cuffs and harness’s make it great to truss her up quick and easy and get down to business.

Then comes the times when I want to draw it out, make it linger and fill the time with anticipation.

That is the beauty of rope!

There is no hurry up when it comes to rope, there is no done in a minute, you take your time and draw it out.

Trussing up your partner is like slow deliberate foreplay. You plan your tie what you want to do to them, how much rope you will need to do what you want.

The true beauty though, the point when it all comes together is when you start that first knot, the first wrap. Your hands play against their skin, the rope slides in a sensuous manner across their skin. Once you begin working the rope around them your hands are in constant contact with your partner. There is touch, done slowly and right it gives excellent opportunity to  play you hands over their body., enticing and arousing. A different type of foreplay perhaps but foreplay none the less.

Then there is the rope itself as you do the wraps, the rope slides across their skin offering its own type of sensation. The touching the wrapping of the rope all adds to the anticipation, the build up of the scene. There are some who just from the feel of the rope against their skin are sent into sub space.
Doing the ties and wraps slowly all adds to what you are doing, you don’t want to pull the rope across their skin to quickly. That can cause a rope burn before you even begin and could put a damper on things before they even start. Also you don’t want to pull the rope to quickly as you don’t want the end of the rope to whip around wildly. You don’t want the end of that rope striking somewhere like an eye and it’s one thing if you are doing whip play and they expect it.

Even after the scene is done the rope will have to come off. Again do it slowly, don’t be in a hurry as once more this allows for some very intimate touching.
Taking the rope off allows for soothing touches and can be a beginning part of after care of the scene.

Time is always a factor when planning a scene with your sub, there will be those days when clock does not allow for the time involved with using rope. But when it does, by all means plan for it as it can add so much to the intimacy of your time with your sub and the scene.

Ah, the wonderful intimacy of rope. The mere whisper of hemp across pale flesh is seduction in itself… And the cuffs…. Yummy! Delicious post 😉

Thank you, the more I’m learning about rope play the more I am liking it. It has been a wonderful exploration thus far.

I’m not a patient person (lol), but there’s something about the anticipation while the rope is being wound around me. And then when everything is pulled tight, I feel like I’m being squeezed, and I like it. 🙂

I’m not patient either (like Kayla) and I don’t have patience to sit and let someone do that to me…. but I like watching it get done to other people. There are a lot of workshops for that here, it is apparently very popular with vanillas in this country. Interesting!
