Hunter and Hunted #Primal

He picked up her scent
Watched her silently from the shadows.
Taking in her every nuance
Observing her every move

At one point she noticed him
Skittish a first, wary, she knew something lurked in the darkness
Over time as he watched she grew used to his presence.

With deadly patience he watched
With persistence he waited
Her mistake was not seeing him was her undoing

Soon her scent was ingrained in him
She filled him before he even saw her
No longer being able to hold back he pounced

Taking her swiftly, fiercely with no quarter.
He expected a fight or some resistance
She gave over completely, willingly
It was just not her flesh he took, but her soul as well

In the savage dance of hunter and hunted.
