Be Healthy

I have talked about how important a submissives health is here. A Dominants health is just as important. Being healthy is something we tend todo in looking after our subs, many Dom’s have exercise schedules in place for them, help them eat a healthier diet, etc.
While it is important for a sub to be healthy, on the other side of that coin it is also just as important for a Dom to maintain their health.

Let’s face it some scenes can be very physically intense as well as emotionally. They can last anywhere from a few minutes to a couple hours depending on what the scene is.
You have to be in good physical form yourself to be able to keep up. Swinging any type of impact toy is demanding, especially if done over a span of time. Doing a suspension scene? You will need to be able to hoist your sub up in the air once the rope is tied.

Eating right and getting exercise is as important for a Dom as it is for the sub.

Another thing to always be aware of is alcohol, you’ve been out for the evening had a few drinks and you are feeling good.
Having a drink now and again is fun, it can be relaxing after a long week at work.

Don’t play; your reflexes are off, your thinking patterns are slower. There is the potential for seriously hurting someone.

What if your sub gets hurt during play?
If you have been drinking or even taking prescription meds would you be up to administering first aid?
Would you be able to call an ambulance or take them to the ER?

These are all things that you need to consider and think about before playing when not feeling well, having a few drinks in you, or taking prescription meds.

As the Dominant you are the one who is in charge, you are the one who is responsible, take care of your self, stay healthy and play safe.
